The Phone alarm alerts the recipient through a pop-up notification on their mobile phone while it is ringing loudly. The notification has a pre-drafted message and the sender’s location on a map. Therefore, once a SpotyPal user presses the panic button, the recipient gets notified immediately, and they do not need to open their email to see the message. Therefore, this is a faster and more reliable option.
However, although the receiver does not need to have a SpotyPal device to receive this SOS alert, they have to install the SpotyPal app and create an account.
To add an SOS contact via phone alarm follow the steps below:
Open the SpotyPal app Tap the three lines on the top left corner Choose the "SOS contact" option Tap the "✚" on the top right corner Choose the "Phone alarm" option and press next Fill in the email of the recipient (must exist a SpotyPal account with this email) Fill in your name to know the recipient from who the SOS alert comes from and press next Write the message your recipient would like to see (ex. I need help, call me ASAP, etc.) and press finishNow the recipient should accept your invitation. He/she receive an email and a notification that will say “You have received an SOS contact request”.
To accept this request he/she should follow the steps below:
Open the SpotyPal app Tap the three lines on the top left corner Choose the "SOS contact" option Press on the "Receive from" menu Accept or reject the request by clicking on "✔" or "✖" iconThat’s it, your SOS contact is ready. Now you are safer than ever!
