Is it possible to disable the button of the SpotyPal device?

Yes, you can deactivate the button in case it is not applicable to your way of use (example: for wallet).

To disable the button:

Open the SpotyPal app

Select the device

Tap the icon with the three dots (on the top right corner)

Click on "Show advanced settings"

Activate the option "Disable button press"

Save changes

To enable the button, deactivate the option “Disable button press”

In which cases can I use NearBy alert?

For example, you could also use the Nearby alert while waiting for your luggage at the baggage reclaim area of an airport. If you have the Νearby alert feature activated, SpotyPal will notify you when your suitcase is coming.

What is NearBy alert?

NearBy Alert is a feature that will notify you when your smartphone gets close to your SpotyPal device.

You can use it, for example, when you have to wait for your luggage near the belt at the airport. SpotyPal will use the “Nearby alert” feature to notify when your suitcase is coming.

How do I send SOS-alerts?

With SpotyPal, you can send SOS-alerts with your location to predefined users.

You will be able send SOS-alerts by:

connecting your device with your smartphone

having chosen the type of button press (single, double or long press) for this functionality

having entered the SOS contacts to receive the message

To select the type of the button press for this functionality:

Open the SpotyPal app

Tap the menu icon on the top left corner of the screen

Select the "Settings" option from the menu

In the section "Button press functionality", choose the type of action for SOS alerts (Single, Double or Long press)

Save your changes by tapping the Save button

There are two options to send SOS alerts:

1) Via email.

To enter a new SOS contact to send SOS alerts via email:

Open the SpotyPal app

Tap the menu icon on the top left corner of the screen

Select the "SOS Contacts" option from the menu

Tap on the "+" button at the top right corner

Select the “email” option and press next

For “Email of the recipient” enter the email of the contact that you would like to inform in case of an urgent situation

For “Your name” fill in your name

For “SOS message” type the message you want to send

That’s it. Now when you face an argent situation, you can simply press the SpotyPal button and the recipient will immediately receive an email with your message and your location.

2) Via “Phone alarm” notifications

To add a new “Phone alarm” contact:

Open the SpotyPal app

Tap the menu icon on the top left corner of the screen

Select the "SOS Contacts" option from the menu

Tap on the "+" button at the top right corner

Select the “Phone alarm” option and press next

For “Email of the recipient” enter the email of the contact that you would like to inform in case of an urgent situation

For “Your name” fill in your name

For “SOS message” type the message you want to send

That’s it. Now, wait until the recipient accepts your request. In the SOS contact menu, below the recipient’s email, you can monitor the status of your request:

Pending: the recipient hasn’t accepted or rejected your invitation yet

Verified: the recipient has accepted your invitation and you can send him/her SOS alerts

Rejected: the recipient has rejected your invitation

NOTE

To be able to receive SOS-alerts via “Phone alarm” feature, the recipients have to download the free SpotyPal app and create an account. They are not obliged to own and use SpotyPal devices and do not pay any additional fees.

With “Phone alarm” alerts you can send SOS alerts to predefined users in case of an urgent situation! The contacts that you want to alert will receive a pop-up notification with your message and your location while their phone will be ringing loudly! With the “Phone alarm” alerts you are sure that all your close ones will be notified the soonest possible!

To add a new “Phone alarm” contact:

Open the SpotyPal app

Tap the menu icon on the top left corner of the screen

Select the "SOS Contacts" option from the menu

Tap on the "+" button at the top right corner

Select the "Phone alarm" option and press next

For "Email of the recipient" enter the email of the contact that you would like to inform in case of an urgent situation

For "Your name" fill in your name

For "SOS message" type the message you want to send

Yes, your phone will ring even on silent, if you:

You have activated the Separation Alert “On mobile” or “On mobile and device”.

You have switched from Notification to Sound alert.

To activate Separation alert functionality:

Open the SpotyPal app.

Select the device you want.

Tap the three dots icon on the top right corner of the screen to display the Device Settings.

In the menu, open the Separation Alert options and choose the option that meets your needs.

Save changes by tapping the Save button.

To switch from Notification to Sound alert:

Open the SpotyPal app.

Tap on the menu icon on the top left corner of the screen.

Select "Settings" from the menu.

Turn on the "Separation notification with alert" option.
